Let’s talk about mentorship!
Mentoring is a powerful personal and career development move for anyone who has their sights set on achieving (or exceeding) their life’s aspirations.
A good mentorship is part “secret weapon”, part growth experience in which both of you can reap major benefits. A mentor can help you with just about anything, such as role transition, leadership skills, clinical support, brainstorming and guidance on decision making.
Mentors also make good point-people for dealing with challenges related to emotional stress, such as burn out and overwhelm. One of the most common difficulties that having a mentor can help you with is overcoming imposter syndrome.
(Pssst! I recorded an entire episode on this topic: #010 New Grad Mindset: How To Overcome And Imposter Syndrome.)
A mentoring relationship, whether it’s 1:1 or group setting can help boost or accelerate your confidence in whatever you’re new at or adjusting to. But how do you know which mentor is right for you?
